Our Origin: Sparked by Australia’s Worst-Ever Bushfires

In the devastating 2019–2020 bushfire crisis, our founder narrowly escaped a massive fire on Australia’s south coast. Tragically, many others lost their lives, and countless communities were left without clear answers to pressing questions: Which direction is the fire heading? How powerful is it? When should we evacuate? Are roads still open? Even firefighters struggled to coordinate an effective response, hampered by a glaring lack of accessible, real-time information.

Determined to bridge this gap, we developed Bushfire.io—a platform that gathers critical data and presents it in near real time, helping people make confident, lifesaving decisions. From that initial spark, our mission grew beyond bushfires to encompass multiple types of natural disasters, both in Australia and around the globe.
