Igniting Innovation: The Birth of Bushfire.io
During Australia’s devastating Black Summer fires in 2019/2020, our founder found himself nearly trapped on the South Coast of New South Wales. Frustrated by the absence of clear and accessible information about the approaching fire, its trajectory, and safe routes home, he was struck by the urgent need for a more user-friendly solution. This personal experience ignited a passion to create something better, leading to the development of Bushfire.io, the inaugural product of Disaster Science.
